U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Supports One Health
“CDC’s National Center for Emerging and Infectious Diseases is committed to maximizing the health of people in the United States and globally by preventing and controlling emerging and zoonotic infections. Under the leadership of Director Beth P. Bell, MD, MPH, Beth P. Bell the Center works with partners throughout the United States and around the world to prevent illness, disability, and death caused by a wide range of infectious diseases – from the rare but deadly, such as anthrax and Ebola hemorrhagic fever, to the more common, such as foodborne and vectorborne diseases. Much of the work conducted by the Center is guided by a holistic One Health approach, and it has unique expertise which contributes to the advancement of One Health. For more information about NCEZID, see the recently released report Our Work, Our Stories 2011-2012.”
