|
November 3, 2019, marks the fourth annual One Health Day, a global campaign to bring attention to the need for a One Health approach to address health threats shared among people, animals, and the environment. One Health recognizes that the health of people is connected to the health of animals and our shared environment.
A One Health approach can address public health concerns like zoonotic diseases, antibiotic resistance, food safety, vector-borne diseases, environmental health, and much more. Successful One Health efforts require a team approach involving professionals from human, animal, and environmental health, as well as other areas like agriculture and policy. Working together allows us to have the biggest impact on improving health for all.
